  Jesus' Tomb... Has it been found?

  It took 20 years for experts to decipher the names on the ten tombs. They were: Jesua, son of Joseph, Mary, Mary, Mathew, Jofa and Judah, son of Jesua.
  Israel's prominent archeologist Professor Amos Kloner didn't associate the crypt with the New Testament Jesus. His father, after all, was a humble carpenter who couldn't afford a luxury crypt for his family. And all were common Jewish names.

  Oh pleeeeze..... a "professor" knows the part of the life of Christ in that Jesus was a humble carpenter but didn't associate three of the names, Joseph, Mary, and Jesus as being the key players in the Nativity..... "H-e-l-l-o" ..... this doesn't pass the "smell" test.

  Really Bad Day Today!

  i woke up to my kids all sick, a letter in the mailbox (put there sneakily sometime early this morning) saying that we should 'return to serve jehovah and become one of the family again' (cannot understand the association of meeting attendance = being part of a family.

  family is family no matter what they choose to believe.

  ) and to top it all off, our 10 year old dog who has been really sick past week, had to be put down a couple of hours ago.

  Sorry it's such a bad day winnie.... tomorrow's another one, a fresh start. Pet's are the best..... so hard to loose a member of the family like that

  My Bethel Experience Part 14

  my strange bethel courtship started with me trying to meet mike stillman's sister, even though he worked in the ink room next to my elevavator, we were not good friends, he was just a little to "country" for me........and on the righeous side too.

  they say "there is nothing more dangerious in combat then a new guy with a map!

  ".........and there was nothing more dangerious at bethel then a self righteous new boy.. anyway one beautiful saturday morning, in 1972, we were walking to the factory, mike happen to be walking with me, and he happen to say "god........i would give anything to get out of this city on a day like today"..........i said "well....... i have a car and no place to go.........you have a place to go and no car"...he wasn't quite sure of me, but.............next thing i knew, it's him and me and 4 of his nerdy friends driving to rhode island.. needless to say, it was a great weekend and debbie who had just turned 19 was happy that her brother finally brought someone home with him, who wasn't a nerd like his other friends.

  What do I tell my wife about the MORMONS?

  a mormon declared his intention to run for president of the usa.. my wife starts talking about it and says that they are mainstream christianity.

  except for the multiple-wives issue.. i told her that the official church doesn't allow the multiple wives, but i cannot .

  see them as a normal mainstream religion.

  When I look for someone to vote for, I'm usually voting for a politician, not someone to be my pastor. Why should religion come up at all? This has the same "smell" as when JFK ran ..... What, a CATHOLIC for president? At one time Catholics looked down on Protestants as not truly "Christian" and vice versa. That's it folks, keep ignoring the real issues and who would make a good Chief Executive and we'll get them same old, same old hack politicians. Romney, as a Republican, won the governorship of a highly Democratic, liberal state - and from what I hear he did a good job. When I hear the phrase "I can't vote for a Mormon" I think of of people filling in the blank on any candidate.....

  I can't vote for a woman...

  I can't vote for a black....

  I can't vote for a democrat

  I can't vote for a republican

  Well, then don't vote for or against your prejudices, vote FOR someone.... their character, their ideas for solving the problems of the country, their ability to listen to all sides and make good judgements .... we'll never get good, honest people if we keep "filling in the blanks" with nonsense. (my 2 cents)

  When Christians experience the "power of the Christ" ...

  is this a feeling unique to christians?.

  because i felt tremendously at peace when i came to terms with the facts about (what i feel is) the lack of authenticity of the bible and it's status as an inspired book - almost as if the universe was telling me, "just let go.

  But I do have a problem when these Christian parents tell their kids that unless they accept Jesus as their lord and savior they will burn in hell. To put that sort of fear into a child about a concept that is completely unproven, and in fact most evidence points to the contrary - really angers me. And don't tell me that is not how Christian children are raised, because I have heard it with my own ears.

  I've heard that from my own ears too, however I don't think most Christians raise their children that way.....I wasn't raised that way, nor would I even begin to say something to my child about "hell" and who goes "there". Christians, as a whole, are more educated than they were a generation or two ago and the same old "hell, fire and brimestone" sermons don't cut it anymore. The concept of that type of hell as punishment can not be proven scripturally and there is too much evidence historically to prove it's evolution as a concept in the early Catholic church.

  Good post, I too have taken to meditating in the morning.....works for me.

  doing some yard work last month, i found a ww2 dogtag in the dirt.

  i'd like to return it to the family, but haven't been able to find a way to determine where they are.

  all i could find on the net was a site for the same purpose set up for vietnam vets' tags.. here's how the tag reads:.

  My Music is Up Again

  i know this part of jw.com is about 'friends" and i also know that i don't have any, or very few of them.

  the friends i do have are awesome, and the friends i don't have don't know what they are missing!.

  that being said, several human beings have asked me to provide them access to some of the music i have recorded in the last few years.. since i happen to be working on a website that i can get access to, i uploaded some of my stuff there.

  DNA For Dummies

  dna for dummies.

  it would be remiss of me to not state that i know absolutely nothing about dna, except that the abbreviation points to a collection of words that no one can pronounce: it means something like "deoxygenated ribo-rabid-nucleaic acid trip", or something like that.

  i first heard about dna in 1964 in a high school biology class and promptly went comotose.

  One thing's for certain, even with the "little" that you know, it's certainly a hell-of-a lot more than the O.J. Simpson jury knew about DNA.... (very funny stuff )
